I found the speaking sessions and short test times to be challenging but also helpful in testing my Japanese knowledge and pushing my abilities.

It was super cool to get an insider view of corporate journalism/reporting, especially in the anime/manga industry.

The most productive was the dictation tests and practice in class. It really forced me to get better at writing and writing quick in Japanese.

I enjoyed the excursions that brought us out of the school and introduced us to different experiences.

Drill practice was very helpful for my grammar.

The tests would help me realize what tiny mistakes I was making (a lot) and the drills helped me be able to craft more complex sentences.

The pair work, so that we could use the concepts being taught in class, and the textbooks were good resources to clarify information and study for tests or just own our own, supplementarily.

Being surrounded by students who speak other languages and having Japanese as our only common language made us all learn quicker!

I would say it was more engaging learning in the language you’re trying to learn.

Make sure to keep on top of your work. For as hard as it is it’s not really that hard if you have a good enough handle on your abilities.
