The most productive aspect of the program is that everything is taught in Japanese but you still have an extra class that you can go to if you need some extra help in English.

Both of them involved experiencing Japanese culture and understanding more about Japan.

These two experiences allowed me, and other students, to experience Japanese and culture directly as well as practice our language skills we were learning in class.

The most interesting aspects of the program was having to adapt to a Japanese learning environment without English & learning + applying the new grammar I learned throughout the course.

I really liked the structures of the classes. I think covered a wide range of applications for language — reading, speaking, writing, and so on — and I think that it covered them well.

Make all the mistakes you can, because an environment where everyone is willing to listen and help you is a special opportunity!

I feel that my language skills improved immensely in such a short amount of time. The people at KCP are very kind and supportive, which motivated me to do my best every day.

Always make Japanese local friends! Especially Japanese university students! They are so kind and fun and they’ll show you so many aspects of Japan’s culture.

The get togethers were also a great way of meeting other students and teachers, and using more Japanese.

I think the emphasis on class discussion really helped my improve both my listening and speaking, and helped me push past my comfort zone in a compassionate environment to get over my fear of speaking.
